I slept in a little this morning. Not rushing or panicking. Just slow, quiet coffee in my hands. Then some friends texted us asking if we wanted to meet for coffee. We hadn’t seen them in a while, so we went. Laughed. Talked. Caught up. After that, we came home, grabbed a bite to eat, then headed out to do some deliveries for the afternoon. Nothing glamorous. Just moving, being productive, being in the day. Around four, I went and played pickleball with some friends while Ev headed home to rest because she was feeling tired. And now I’m getting ready to head out again tonight to hang with friends and play some card games. It’s been a full day. And here’s the thing I keep reminding myself of: There was a time in my life where I would have given anything for days like this.
Depression and anxiety kept me closed off for so long that having a “busy” day now feels like a quiet miracle. I’m tired, yeah but I’m also grateful. This is the life I used to wish for.
